€100 fine for taxi man who smoked in his cab at rank.
A Taxi driver who smoked a cigarette in his cab, was fined €100 by Judge John Coughlan at Wexford District Court. Brian Flanagan, 65 Goodtide Harbour, Maudlintown admitted smoking in 'a place of work' at a taxi rank in Redmond Square on April 29. Caitriona Walsh, solicitor for the HSE which brought the case, asked for costs of €800. 'Ah now, this is a taxi driver smoking in his own cab,' said the Judge. Ms. Walsh then asked for a contribution towards the costs and the Judge awarded her €150
