Two held after assault and robbery of taxi driver
Gardai have arrested two men following the assault and robbery of a taxi driver in Co Roscommon this morning. The hackney driver collected the men from a pub in Castlerea at around 2am, but they assaulted him during the journey and stole his mobile phone and a sum of cash. They then forced the man out of car and drove away in the direction of Athlone. Gardai subsequently arrested two men in the town.
