Occasionally you get a story from a Taxi driver that's worth retelling

Tony the Taxi Driver I got a lift home from Nuromantek (the club) last night with Aileen. We hailed this taxi on Tomas Street and got in. The driver was listening to 98FM and I commented that the talk show did my head in and I couldn't bare to listen to it. He said he was listening to it because people were on about the cops and how they'd bungled the opportunity to catch the robbers who got away with EUR450,000 from ...

BRAY TAXI DRIVERS are in fear for their safety after bearing the brunt

of a series of violent late-night incidents in the town. In the second

clash of its kind in as many weeks, a mini-bus driver got caught in the

middle of a punch-up on his bus in the King Edward Road area in the

early hours of Sunday morning. The previous Friday at around 11 p.m.

a man attempting to punch a taxi driver parked at the Dart rank exposed

himself in the struggle during his arrest. 'He was so drunk he ...

your Government were afraid to tackle it. The problem with Ireland's

You have two choices in Waterford, you can go home and get back in to bed and tell your family there is no money that week, or you can try work the rank and the only way on the rank is illegally. Like musical chairs the 500 taxis in Waterford just can not fit on the 16 rank spaces provided in the city center. You get on the rank by any means on your family don't eat, its that simple. You see in the video the taxi's are on the junction breaking the law in an effort to get on the rank. Again ...
